BAYU KRISTIANTO is an instructor and faculty member at English Department (Program Studi Inggris), Faculty of Humanities (Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya – FIB), UniversitasIndonesia. He is currently the head of American Studies Graduate Program, theSchool ofStrategic and Global Studies, UniversitasIndonesia, where he is also an instructor. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in literature from English Department (at FIB UI), his Master’s degree in American Studies from American Studies Department at State University of New York (SUNY) atBuffalo, and his Ph.D. degree in Native American Studies from Native American Studies Department atUniversity ofCalifornia,Davis. His areas of interest are Native American Studies, American Studies, English and American literature, Cultural Studies, and film studies. He has published a number of articles in the form of literary and film criticism in several academic journals both inIndonesia and abroad, as well as given presentations on various issues in literature and film.
