Grit dan Innovative Work Behavior pada Anggota Organisasi Kemahasiswaan pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19

Abstrak

Anggota organisasi kemahasiswaan perlu mengembangkan innovative work behavior khususnya pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan ketekunan dalam menggali ide-ide baru yang merupakan bagian dari grit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keterkaitan antara grit dengan innovative work behavior pada anggota organisasi kemahasiswaan. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 171 orang mahasiswa anggota organisasi kemahasiswaan di sebuah universitas swasta di Surabaya. Skala dalam penelitian ini adalah 12-Item Grit Scale dan skala innovative work behavior. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa grit memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan innovative work behavior. Perseverance of effort, salah satu dimensi grit, merupakan prediktor yang signifikan bagi innovative work behavior. Hal ini berarti semakin gigih anggota organisasi, maka semakin sering mereka menciptakan, mempromosikan, dan merealisasikan inovasi dalam organisasi.

Abstract

Members of student organizations should have innovative work behavior, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, they need to show perseverance in developing new ideas, which can be considered a part of grit. This study aimed to examine the relationship between grit and innovative work behavior among members of student organizations. Participants were members of student organizations at a private university in Surabaya. The scales used in the study were the 12-Item Grit Scale and the Innovative Work Behavior Scale. The result showed that grit had a significant positive relationship with innovative work behavior. Perseverance of effort as a dimension of grit was a significant predictor of innovative work behavior. This means that the more persistent the organization members are, the more frequently they generate, promote, and implement innovations in the organization.
