Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the following requirements:
- Authorship: Manuscripts may be submitted by a single author or by multiple authors working collaboratively. Please pay attention to the Publication Ethics Policy [EP-I-004-2026].
- Type of Manuscript: The journal accepts manuscripts that report empirical research findings, including studies employing quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches.
- Originality of Submission: Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been previously published and are not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal or scientific publication. Please pay attention to the Publication Ethics Policy [EP-I-004-2026].
- Language and Writing Style: Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English. The manuscript must follow the writing and citation guidelines established by the American Psychological Association (APA) as described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th Edition).
- Submission Procedure: First time authors must register themselves (by registering and creating an account) as an Auahor on the website and progress through the submission process (https://journal.unika.ac.id/index.php/psi/user/register). Registered authors could submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system available at: https://journal.unika.ac.id/index.php/psi/author/submit/.
- The submission must include the author’s biographical information and full correspondence details, including institutional address, residential address, mobile phone number, and telephone number.
- Manuscript Format: Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) and formatted according to the following specifications:
- Font: Charter
- Font size: 11 pt
- Layout: Single column
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Paper size: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm)
- The total length of the manuscript should not exceed 20 pages, including tables, figures, and references.
Structure of the Article
Title of Publication Manuscript: Maximum of 15 words in English. Should be concise and straightforward in describing the content of the article. May use creative titles to attract readers, while remaining appropriate and maintaining scientific rigor. Without research location -will be presented in the methods section
Author(s) Name: Provide the full name of each author (first, middle, and last name) without any titles. Authors are suggested to provide the full names without any initials.
Affiliation: Provide each Author’s affiliation, at the minimum consisting of the institution and the faculty or department name. Also Provide the name of town or city, and country for all Author
Corresponding Author: Pick one Author as the Corresponding Author and provide the working and active e-mail addresses of all Authors. Corresponding Author is researchers who are fully responsible for communication with scientific journals during the submission process, peer review, and publication.
Abstract: A maximum 180-word abstract in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Abstract should be clear, descriptive, and should provide a brief overview of the problem studied. Abstract topics include reasons for the selection or the importance of research topics, hypothesis, research methods and a summary of the results. Abstract should end with a comment about the importance of the results or brief conclusion. Do not use abbreviations and citations.
Keywords: Provide 3-5 words as Keywords
Introduction: Elaborate on the underlying issue, theoretical review, aim and benefit of the research, and hypothesis (the total number of pages should be no more than 30% of the overall manuscript pages). It contains; (a) the latest scientific development of the studied variable; (b) research gap; (c) the researchers’ argument in fulfilling the gap as their commitment to contributing to the development of science; and (d) research objectives and/or hypothesis.
Method: Consist of variable identification, research subject, instrument, and methods, including the statistical analysis technique used (the maximum page is 20% of the total page of the manuscript). This segment should inform readers of the materials and method that the authors have used for the research. Please ensure that sufficient information has been given to allow for repetition of the research. Avoid directly quoting definitions from a book in the method section.
Results: The result section consists of descriptive statistic, assumption test, and hypothesis test, which are then critically analyzed sequentially or unified (no more than 20% of the overall manuscript pages). It must contain the data analysis result. When possible, put a table/chart/figure that contains the interpretation of the data analysis to make it easier to be understood appropriately. Table/chart/figure should not contain raw data that has not been analyzed.
Discussion: The explanation of the research findings, associated with the results of previous studies, critically analyzed and linked to the relevant literatures (number of maximum pages is 30-40% of the overall pages of the manuscript). The Discussion section should interpret the results in relation to the research questions and relevant literature, highlighting the contribution of the study to the field. Authors are encouraged to elaborate on the theoretical and/or practical implications of the findings. The discussion should conclude with a reflection on the limitations of the study, followed by recommendations or suggestions for future research.
Conclusion: The conclusion should answer the research objective instead of summarizing the research findings. Conclusion should be brief, clear, and concise, based on the findings and discussion (maximum 1 page), written in one paragraph form (not numerical), contain a synthesis of the findings from the data analysis and discussion, and highlights the novel findings that contribute to the development of psychology as a science.
Ethical Statement: Authors must provide a statement confirming that the research was conducted in accordance with applicable ethical standards. For studies involving human participants or animals, authors should indicate that ethical approval was obtained from the appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB), including the name of the institution and approval number if available. Authors should also confirm that informed consent was obtained from participants when applicable. If the study did not require or obtain formal ethical approval, authors must state that the research was conducted in accordance with ethical principles for research involving human participants, including voluntary participation, informed consent, confidentiality, and the protection of participants’ rights and well-being.
Acknowledgments: In this section, authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed to the research but did not meet the criteria for authorship. This may include technical assistance, administrative support, or other forms of contribution. If the research received financial support, authors may also mention the funding source here if not stated elsewhere.
Authors’ Contributions: Authors should clearly describe the contribution of each author to the study and manuscript preparation. Contributions may include conceptualization, research design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript drafting, and manuscript revision. All listed authors should have made substantial contributions and approved the final version of the manuscript. All authors should be indicated by their initials.
Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence the research or interpretation of the results. If there are no conflicts of interest, authors should state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest".
Declaration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use: To promote transparency and uphold academic integrity, PSIKODIMENSIA Kajian Ilmiah Psikologi requires all authors to disclose whether generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) or AI-assisted technologies were used during manuscript preparation.
Orcid ID: List the Orcid ID of each author
References: Write the bibliographical list which become the references alphabetically and chronologically. The reference is a list of reference / references is not a bibliography, thus, should contain all sources referred to in the manuscript; no need to contain unassigned sources. The reference list contains all references in the text derived from sources that are (a) relevant, (b) at least 80% are recent studies (last 10 years), and (c) at least 80% are primary studies, particularly from journal articles).
