Self-Compassion Sebagai Mediator Antara Perceived Stress dan Depresi Pada Emerging Adulthood

Abstract


Depresi adalah gangguan kesehatan mental yang rentan dialami oleh emerging adulthood. Kondisi ini dipengaruhi oleh perceived stress terhadap berbagai tekanan dan tantangan pada masa transisi dari remaja menuju dewasa. Self-compassion merupakan kemampuan untuk menunjukkan sikap positif kepada diri sendiri yang dipandang sebagai faktor protektif terhadap depresi, namun penelitian yang berfokus pada peran self-compassion dalam hubungan antara perceived stress dan depresi belum banyak mendapat perhatian. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji apakah self-compassion menjadi faktor penengah yang menghubungkan perceived stress dan depresi pada emerging adulthood. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 186 individu usia 18-29 tahun yang menyelesaikan Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10), Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), dan Skala Welas Diri (SWD). Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan path analysis dan sobel test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pada emerging adulthood terdapat pengaruh perceived stress terhadap depresi (B = 0,352; p < 0,05), perceived stress terhadap self-compassion (B = -0,715; p < 0,05), dan self-compassion terhadap depresi (B = -0,573; p < 0,05). Self-compassion juga ditemukan memiliki peran mediasi yang signifikan di dalam hubungan antara perceived stress dan depresi pada emerging adulthood (Z = 6,063; p < 0,05).
