Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

Articles submitted to HJHK: Humanitate Journal of Health Law must be the result of research that meets scientific writing standards and is not in the process of being published in another journal.

General Writing Format

1. Articles must be typed with single spacing. 

2. Articles should be written in English, using 12-point Times New Roman font on A4-size paper. 

3. Page margins: Top, bottom, left, and right should each be 3 cm. 

4. The article length should be between 15–20 pages, not including the references. 

5.  All pages, including references and appendices, must be numbered sequentially. 

6. Subheadings should be left-aligned, written in bold uppercase letters, in 12-point Times New Roman font. 

7. Each table or figure should be numbered sequentially. Table titles must reflect the content of the table, and figures should be center-aligned. The source of tables and figures must be cited.

Structure of The Article

1.  Title

  1. The title must reflect the article's content, written in English and concisely. (14-point, uppercase, bold, center-aligned, Times New Roman) 
  2. The author's name, email address, and institutional affiliation must be listed below the title. Academic degrees are not required. (12-point, center-aligned, Times New Roman) 
  3. If the article is written by more than one author, the corresponding author must be indicated.

2.  Abstract And Keywords

     The abstract should summarize the research problem, objectives, methods, and findings. Abstracts must be written in both English and Indonesian, approximately 200 words each, followed by keywords. The abstract in Indonesian should be italicized. Keywords should consist of 3–5 phrases that reflect the key concepts used in the article.

3.  Introduction

This section includes the background, purpose, or motivation of the research prompted by a phenomenon, and the contribution of the research.

4.  Problem Formulation

This section contains theoretical reviews and the development of conceptual arguments forming the basis for problem formulation. It should be emphasized that the article must be based on critical thinking.

 

 

5.  Research Method

This section includes the research design, covering the research model, sampling procedures, operational definitions and variable measurements, data collection techniques, and analysis methods used.

6.  Discussion

This section presents sample characteristics and the results of data analysis, including descriptive statistics, discussion of findings, and generalization of the results.

7.  Conclusion And Recommendations

This section provides the research conclusions, implications, and suggestions for future studies.

8.  References

This section includes only the references cited in the manuscript.

In-Text Citation Format

Sources cited within the text should be presented as footnotes using a 10-point Times New Roman font, left-aligned.

Reference List Format

Every article must include a reference list (only those cited in the article), arranged alphabetically based on the author's last name or institutional name.

Bibliography

This section contains the reference sources used and only those used in the manuscript are included in the bibliography.

Tables and Figures

  1. Tables generated by statistical software must be modified first to align with the purpose and objectives of the article.
  2. Tables or figures should be numbered sequentially and accompanied by explanations that refer to their respective numbers.
  3. Tables or figures that are cited must include their sources.

Review Process

1.  First Stage:

     The initial review is conducted by the Editor of the Humanitate Journal of Health Law. If the manuscript passes this stage, it will proceed to the next stage.

2.  Second Stage (Blind Review):

     The Editorial Board carries out the second review through a blind review process. The possible outcomes of this stage are: Accepted without revision, Accepted with revision, Rejected

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
