Abstract
One of the design and governance functions of buildings in urban areas is to reduce negative impacts on the environment. This environmentally friendly building design needs to be emphasized to all communities so that environmental conditions remain sustainable. With qualitative methods and descriptive analysis because the focus of this study leads to the context of efforts to overcome the impact of climate change, this study finds that more efficient management of building design in office buildings to be environmentally friendly needs to be carried out, one of which is the use of environmentally friendly energy such as energy-saving lamps that lead to renewable energy so that it can reduce carbon emissions. In carrying out the construction of a building, it is also necessary to pay attention to ecological aspects or the surrounding environment as an effort to maintain the balance of nature. The role of the community in building a building or infrastructure by paying attention to ecological aspects and environmentally friendly building design is a form of awareness from the community to minimize carbon emissions that have an impact on climate change.
