Hubungan Dukungan Orangtua dan Harga diri dengan Harapan sebagai Variabel Mediator

Abstract


Harga diri dirasa memiliki peranan yang penting pada perkembangan remaja, remaja yang memiliki harga diri akan memiliki keyakinan diri sehingga merasa dihargai dalam lingkungan sosialnya. Orangtua memiliki tanggung jawab yang besar dalam memenuhi kebutuhan harga diri anak, tidak hanya dukungan orangtua tetapi harapan juga dianggap mampu membentuk harga diri remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan orangtua dan harga diri dengan harapan sebagai variabel mediator. Subjek penelitian adalah remaja berkisar 12-15 tahun di SMP Kartika IV-8 Kota Malang sebanyak 50 subjek. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale untuk mengukur harga diri, Parents as Social Context Questionnaire (PASCQ) Child Report untuk mengukur dukungan orangtua, dan Hope Scale for Children untuk mengukur harapan pada anak. Metode analisis menggunakan analisis regresi berganda dengan uji sobel untuk menguji hasil mediasi. Hasil dari analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh langsung antara dukungan orangtua dan harga diri pada remaja dengan signifikan B=0,693; p<0,001. Selain itu, harapan ditemukan mampu sebagai mediator yang signifikan pada hubungan antara dukungan orangtua dan harga diri sebesar Z=2,884.
