Peer Review Process

The practice of peer-review is intended to ensure that only good science article is published. As an objective method of guaranteeing excellence in scholarly publishing, it has been adopted by all reputable scientific journals.

Our reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the CHROME Journal, which is why all incoming manuscripts are peer-reviewed following the procedure outlined below. 

Initial manuscript evaluation
After the first screening by the Chief Editor, one of the Associate Editors first evaluates all submitted manuscripts before passes to the reviewers. Manuscripts rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, have poor grammar or English language, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal. Those that meet the minimum criteria are normally passed on to at least two expert referees for reviewing.

In case of rejected manuscript, the author will be informed within two weeks after submission.

Type of peer review
CHROME using ‘blind’ review process, in which the reviewer remain anonymous to the author(s) throughout and following the reviewing process, whilst the identity of the author(s) is likewise unknown to the reviewers.

CHROME Reviewers
The associate editor and our reviewers are matched to the paper according to their expertise. 

Associate Editor Reports
Associate Editor are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript:

  • Is original as to thought and method (including data)
  • Is methodologically sound
  • Has results which are clearly presented and support the conclusions
  • Correctly and exhaustively references previous relevant work
  • Follows appropriate ethical guidelines, especially as concerns plagiarism
  • Clearly adds to the knowledge and development of the field

Language correction is not part of the peer-review process. Author(s) should do proof read before submit the manuscript for the matters of linguistic and grammar.

How long does the review process take?
For the CHROME Journal, the typical time for the review process is approximately 6 weeks, with a maximum of two months. 

Final report
A final decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author along with the recommendations.


 

Publication Frequency

CHROME Journal is publish bianually on the month of May and November

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
